Today, I’m creating 8 Autumn in 👘Kyoto 🏯cards using the New collection from Spellbinders! This collection can be used on it’s own but also pairs SO well with the Previously released Spring in Kyoto collection! I absolutely LOVE the Scenic Kyoto background plate and coordinating stencil and use it to create several backgrounds with different colour palettes! Ad
Visual Supply list below.
Before creating cards, The Scenic Kyoto and Autumn in Kyoto plates were used in the GLimmer 2 system to foil o Hammermill cardstock with Matte Gold Glimmer foil. The solid foil plate was also used to foil the remainder foil. The Ideal Moments sentiment press plate set is also foiled for additional sentiments.
The first card uses a foiled Scenic Kyoto background and finished off with a die cut Kokeshi doll from the Kokeshi dolls die set. One of the stamps in the set were used to add Gold Heat embossed pattern to the cardstock before die cutting the Kimono.

The second card uses a Solid foiled background along with another die cut Kokeshi doll. This card aslo features the Japanese Maple die cut.
The third card uses the coordinating later stencil set to colour the Scenic Kyoto background in a Fall colour palette with Distress and Interference inks. The Foiled Autumn in Kyoto image is coloured in copic markers before adding to the card.

The fourth card features another foiled and stencilled background in a different colour pallete showing the versatility of the background. This background is finished off with another die cut Kokeshi doll in coordinating colours.
The fifth card uses the Shoji screen 3D embossing folder with white vellum. The embossed vellum is coloured o the back using copic markers and is mounted onto a Solid foiled background with a foiled sentiment finishing the card.

The sixth card features another foiled and stencilled background with an autumn colour pallete and a die cut Kokeshi doll in Autumn colours.
The seventh card uses the Shoji screen Embossing folder again. The hammermill cardstock is taped into the Embossing folder and the opposite side is inked with Black soot distress ink to colour the recessed areas of the background while embossing. That step is repeated till the desired darkness of the background is achieved. The Branch and leaves are colourd with Fall distress ink colours using detail blending brushes. The card is finished with a foiled sentiment.

The eighth card uses the Parasol Press plate and coordinating stencil from the Spring in Kyoto collection to create the background. The press plate is used in the Betterpress system to heat emboss the press plate image with Gold embossing powder before stencilling. The Autumn in Kyoto stamp is heat embossed on watercolour cardstock with Gold embossing powder before watercolouring with Distress refills and fussy cutting once dry. A strip of Vellum is used between the watercoloured image and background to help it stand out.
