In this video I’m creating a Vintage lights Card using the new Laboratory Glassware die set from the New Propegation garden collection from Spellbinders. I thought some of the Glassware looked like vintage light bulbs and thought making the bulbs light up would take the card to the next level. Ad
I love the new Propegation Garden Collection from Spellbinders Paper Arts and recently used the Laboratory Glassware die set to create a Chemistry themed card. Here I’m using that same die set to create a card with lights resembling vintage light bulbs. The Lights were cut from vellum and cream cardstock was used to create the outline to the lights and the same dies were used to cut 3 of each light to layer together to add dimention to the back and give room for the tiny lights.
Once the lights were assembled, I layed them out on the card front piece and put a pencil mark so I knew where to pierce the card front for the tiny lights to go throught. I added the tiny lights and each light bulb one at a time, glueing the light down with Bearly Art glue and testing the lights regularly throughout to ensure everything was still working properly. Once all of the lights and Light bulbs were added to the front of the card, the excess at the end of the light string (farthest from the battery pack) can be cut off. Foam tape was added to the back of that making sure that the tape is higher than the light battery pack and then attached to the front of the card. Sentiments were typed and printed from the Computer and trimmed for the front and inside the card. The last step was to write on & off so the card recipient knows they can turn the lights on and off.
