Techniques with Alcohol Ink and Press Plates

In this video I’m sharing 3 Techniques to try with Alcohol Ink and Press plates. I love working with Alcohol inks and with every technique I try in my Betterpress, I love it more and more as well. I love the result of combining those 2 together. The Alcohol inks combined with Press plates give such a colourful Vibrant look that does not disappoint! Ad

For all the Cards I will be using the New Betterpress Spring Release from Spellbinders Paper Arts. Spellbinders kindly sent me these items to create with and share with you. I had so many different ideas when it came to how I wanted to create with them it was hard to narrow it down! For these cards I will be using the New Cosmos Backdrop Press plate as well as the New You are Everything Sentiments Betterpress plate and die set.

For the First Technique I created an Alcohol ink background on Yupo paper and then used The Betterpress system with an Alcohol Lift Ink Pad to lift that ink off and transfer it onto Glossy Cardstock using the Cosmos Backdrop plate and You are Everything Sentiments plate & die set. The results are interesting and Unique backgrounds and the best part is you get 2 Backgrounds from the Technique! I also did the same technique with the Floral stems press plates to create floral elements for the fronts of those cards.

For the Second Technique I used the Cosmos Backdrop Plate with Versamark ink and pressed it onto Dura-lar and then Embossed with Black Embossing powder. The embossed image creates ridges making it easier to “paint” inside those areas with Alcohol Ink. The result is a Beautiful and Vibrant Stained Glass looking Card.

The Third Technique is Copic Colouring the Cosmos Backdrop image that was created using a Black Memento Pad. The Cosmos background looks absolutely beautiful coloured with Copic Alcohol Based Markers. I don’t think theres ANY Technique this plate doesn’t look absolutely stunning with! I used a touch of stickles in the centres of the flowers to add a little sparkle. The Sentiments used in all of the Cards are from the You are Everything Sentiments set created in one of my previous videos. Using this plate creates LOTS of sentients for future projects. You can find the video creating them PLUS a lot more Creative inspiration using the plates from this release HERE.
