Today, I’m sharing Summer stitched Cards using the Nichole Spohr Summer Felt & Stitch collection from Spellbinders. Between the stitching, felt and adhesive velvet, these cards have a tonne of texture to them! Ad
Visual Supply list below.
All stitching for all cards is done with gold floss for extra metallic shimmer. The sentiments for all cards were created with the Nature’s Botanical Sentiments press plate & die set. The sentiments were heat embossed with Gold embossing powder to coordinate with the Metallic stitching before die cutting the sentiments.
The first card uses the Felt Summer bloom die set with a combination of cardstock & felt to create the floral element. The centre of the flower is stuffed with a cotton ball for a little extra dimension. The flower was die cut from Wild berry cardstock and the leaves were stitched with cardstock on the back so that the leaves could be shaped. The background of the card was embossed with the Flower frenzy 3D embossing folder on fawn cardstock to add extra texture.

The second card was created with the Felt Floral beehive die set. The Beehive and foliage were created out of felt and stitched with cardstock on the back. The bees were created with Velvet adhesive cardstock and the wings were created with vellum so they have a different texture to the Hive and florals. The background is embossed with the Bee Cause 3D embossing folder to tie in with the bee theme. The florals were arranged around the bottom of the hive as an alternative to the arrangement on the die packaging.
The third card uses the beehive die with cardstock to creat the bottom of the basket. The Essential arches die set is used to create the Basket handle. The carrots were created using the Flet carrot companion die set with light peach cardstock. The background was embossed with the same folder as the first card for a bit of texture. Instead of stitching the basket, it is faux stitched with a gold gel pen.
