Today, I’m sharing some Stitching Themed Cards using the New Nichol’s Needlework Collection from Spellbinders. I love the fun stitching themed dies in this set and really like that you can use a lot of them on their own as well without the Main Gathering stitches die set for more versatility with the dies! Ad
I love the Stitching Theme to the Nichol’s Needlework Collection from Spellbinders. In this video I create 3 cards and an ornament. Each one uses pieces from the Gathering Stitches die set as well as Watercolor Cardstock for the centre background of each one.
For the First card I created a Pastel Rainbow card using the Gathering stitches die set and incorporated White die cut flowers from the Faux Embroidered pumpkin die set to give the look of clouds. The finishing touch to the card is the die cut thread spool and vintage scissors from the Needleworker tool kit die set. The Scissors, needle and Embroidery hoop clasp were die cut in silver mirror cardstock from the Silver Treasured Cardstock pack.
The second Card is Fall themed using the Faux Embroidered pumkin die set in a fall colour sceme. The Embossed background is create using the Leafy Helix Embossing folder and for this card I did the metallic accents using Rose Gold Mirror Cardstock from the Rose Gold Treasured Cardstock pack. A sentiment is stamped inside using the Nichol’s Needlework Sentiment stamp set.
The third card uses the Faux Embroidered Stockings die set in a Non-traditional colour palette. The embossed background is created with the Evergreen embossing folder inked with Evergreen bough distress ink. White glitter cardstock adds a little sparkle to the top of the stockings.
The Ornament is created with the Faux Embroidered Spruce die set and Embroidery hoop frames. The embroidery hoop frame is painted with Tarnished brass distress paint for a metallic finish. Once the die cut pieces are assembled, I added glossy accents to the ornaments for some shine and dimension. Red metallic cord is used for the hanger as well as a bow to finish the top of the ornament off.
