Today, I’m creating Stitched Holiday Cards using the New Stitched Bright collection from Spellbinders. I love the added texture that stitching gives to the die cuts. Stitching on the die cuts takes very few extra supplies and gives it a fun and unique look. Ad
The Stitching on these Holiday Cards are such a fun way to add aditional detail and texture. The stitching is quite easy and intuitive. For all the die cuts, I tape the floss down when I start stitching and when I finish. I also die cut each piece twice and glue one on the back to give it more dimension, secure the floss and make it easier when assembling the card. For the First card, I ink blended the background with Faded Jeans distress ink and bottom part of the tree stitching die cut with Rustic Wilderness distress ink to add additional visual texture. Both the Starfilled background and Stitched Holiday tree are stitched with gold floss.
Both the second and third card are created with the Stitched String lights die set. The background of the second card is embossed with the Evergreen Embossing folder and inked lightly with a Gold ink pad. The third card uses the same set to create Onaments and had a Background embossed with the Vintage Ornaments embossing folder and lightly inked with a Silver ink pad.
