Today, I’m creating Stencil & Embossed Butterfly Cards using Lisa Horton Mariposa Layering stencil & Embossing folder. I’m using a combination of Interference inks with Distress inks on the first card and Interference inks with Matt Blending inks on the second card. I love the look of the interference combined with both inks and the addition of embossing the stencilled background takes the butterfly image to the next level! Ad

Both of the cards created use the Mariposa Layering stencils and Mariposa 3D Embossing folder from Lisa Horton Crafts. I used interference inks on both cards in Opal Blush, Crushed Velvet and Tropical Paradise. I also used Silver metallic ink for the Heads of the Butterflies on both cards and Moon dust stickles glitter gel for the butterfly bodies to add some sparkle.
For the first card, I used Distress ink in Black soot and Lost shadow to ink blend the butterfly wing detail before adding the interference ink colour on the next stencil layer. This card is finished off with a Congrats sentiment from the Wedding Day XL Sentiments die set.
The second card uses the same interference inks as the first card but this time, I combine them with Matt Blending inks in: Painted Eggshell, Sugar Candy, Spiced Plum and Anthracite. For this card, the Matt Blending inks went on first to cover the whole butterfly wing and coordinating So Awesome Sentiments die set.
