Spellbinders March 2025 Clubs part 2

Today, I’m sharing Spellbinders March 2025 Clubs part 2 -Betterpress plate of the Month FIVE ways. The Betterpress System has quickly become one of my favourite tools to create with because there are many different techniques and ways to use the plates. In this video, I’m sharing 5 of my favourites!

Visual Supply list below.

All five cards in this video use the Quilted Memories Betterpress plate of the month to create card backgrounds with different looks and feels.

The first card uses the Quilted Memories press plate to Heat emboss with Clear Embossing powder onto Black Mixed media heavystock. Victorian Bouquet Magicals are then used on that background and the Clear embossed pattern resists the Magicals and creates a unique shimmer background. The Floral dies from the Family & Friends large die of the month are added to the background as an accent and the card is finished off with black Heat embossed sentiment created using the Nearest & Dearest Clear stamp of the month.

The second card uses Black Betterpress ink on the Background plate and presses that background into White mixed media heavystock. The coordinating Mosaic & Quilted memories Stencil of the month is used with a Versamark pad for each layer, dusting different magicals powders on that versamark ink between each layer. Once done, the background is misted with the Mighty mister to set the powder. The card is finished with another Clear stamp of the month sentiment, this time heat embossed with White EP on black cardstock.

The third card uses the press plate to Heat emboss the pattern onto clear dura-lar with Black embossing powder. Small tools are used with Alcohol inks to colour in the different sections. Sookwang tape is put onto the back of the duralar before colouring to protect the back from the alcohol ink and later to adhere the background onto white cardstock. The card is finished off with another Clear stamp of the month sentiment, heat embossed with White EP onto black cardstock.

The fourth car uses the press plate with the Glimmer system to Hot foil the image onto Hammermill cardstock with Prism glimmer foil. Once foiled the pattern is coloured using the coordinating stencil with distress inks and the Lovestruck metallic ink pad for some metallic shine. This card and the fifth card were finished off with Foiled sentiments using the We are Family Glimmer of the month.

The fifth card uses the Background plate in the Platinum 6 machine to emboss the image. The same stacking is used as when you emboss a die cut in the platinum 6. After embossing, the bakcground is lightly ink blended bringing out the embossed pattern. The florals from the Large die of the month were die cut from white cardstock and lightly ink blended to coordinate.
