Spellbinders Delicate Floral Hummingbirds

In this video, I’m using the Spellbinders Delicate Floral Hummingbirds die set to create a Large 5″ x 7″ shaped card. This die set lends itself to a shaped card very and the die set is perfect for those times when you feel like creating but don’t necessarily want to figure out a design. With all of the overlay die cuts, it’s also a great opportunity to use up cardstock scraps.

I only used one die set to create this card and I love that the Delicate Floral Hummingbird die set has all of the pieces needed for the different layers as well as the fact that it covers a large 5″ x 7″ card. I chose to create a shaped card with this set but you could also use the die cut pieces on a 5″ x 7″ card base. I used a couple of Medium Craft Stax containers to organize my die cut pieces as I was die cutting. The Green vines were created using Hero Hues Kiwi Cardstock and the Bright pink cardstock is Azalea Hero Hues Cardstock. The other Floral and Leaf die cuts were created by using up cardstock scraps. The Humming bird Pieces were created using several different colours of holographic cardstock for some stunning Hummingbirds. I used regular Holographic as well as Water Sprite and Petal Pink. The die cuts were ink blended using a grip mat with various Distress inks to add shading and adhered to the Card base using Bearly Art glue in a fine tipped bottle. The final touches to the card were Stickles on the centres of the small purple flowers as well as the Fuschia Stamen. Black Enamel Accents adds shine and dimension to the eyes and beak of the Hummingbirds. I didn’t add a sentiment to this card but it would be perfect for many different occasions.
