Spellbinders Betterpress Registration Tips & Tricks

Spellbinders Betterpress Registration Tips & Tricks

In this video I’m sharing the New Spellbinders Betterpress Registration plates. This was my first time working with them and I absolutely love how they work and wanted to share some tips and tricks I learned alont the way while using them. Ad

The first and sixth card were created with the Peony Perfection Registration Press Plate.

For the First card, I used the Registration press plate in the Bettterpress system with several different Distress ink pad colours to create some darker and lighter areas. That card was finished off using one of the sentiments in the set with Versamark ink and Heat embossing it with Silver Embossing powder and adding a matte with Silver Mirror cardstock before assembling the Card.

The sixth card was created with Archival ink pads on Watercolour cardstock before being watercoloured with Karin Markers. The card was assembled when dry and finished off with a Betterpress Sentiment from the Cheers to you Sentiments Press plates and die set.

For the Second and Third were created with the Happy Hooray Balloons Betterpress Registration plates.

The second Card was created with different colours of Distress ink pads to create bright colourful balloons on white cardstock. The balloons were finished off with Glossy Accents on most of them to create some beautiful shine and assembled on the Card base when dry. It was finished off with a sentiment from the Cheers to you Sentiments and Dies that was inked with one of the balloon distress ink colours and adhered with a foam adhesive strip.

The Third Card was created in a very similar way to the second card but using Brilliance Metallic ink pads. After the image was created, I added Clear embossing powder to the Balloons to add shine. I used an embossing pen to add the embossing powder to any place it wasn’t sticking to the ink before Heat embossing. This card was also finished off with one of the Cheers to you Sentiments with a foam adhesive strip after the card had been assembled to the Card base.

The Fourth and Fifth cards were created using the Sprigs Registration press plates.

The Fourth card was created with more of a Fall vibe on Watercolour paper using Distress Oxide ink pads. After all of the different plates were pressed with different colours, the whole piece was sprayed with water so that the dye properties of the inked images would bleed into the background. While waiting for it to dry, I created several other pressed leaves with the same inks and die cut them with the coordinating dies in my Spellbinders platinum 6 to use as embellishments. After the background had dried, I trimmed it and added it to a coordinating card base. I finished the card off with the leaf embellishments and one of the celebration sentiments.

The fifth card has more of a Spring vibe and was created by using Karin Markers directly on the press plates before lightly misting and pressing onto Distress watercolor Cardstock and setting that aside to dry. While waiting for it to dry, I created the background using the Buffalo Plaid press plate with a Spun Sugar distress pad and ran it through my Platinum 6 using the stacking for embossing a diecut. Once dry, the sprigs were cut out with the coordinating dies and my card was assembled and arranged onto the card base. The die cuts were finished off with a touch of stickles and glossy accents to add sparkle and shine.
