Ship in a Bottle Card

Ship in a Bottle Card

In this video, I’m creating a Ship in a Bottle Card using the New Fair Winds collection from Spellbinders. I LOVE this coastal themed line and how each of the components can either be used together or separate! Ad

I love the Coastal vibe of the Fair winds collection from Spellbinders Paper arts. For this card, I’m using All of the Dies in the Collection as well as the Uncharted Waters Layering stencil along with the Whale in a Bottle die set. I used my Ultra Sticky mat from Altenew to hold my stencil and cardstock while using the layering stencils with Distress inks for the background. I used Transparent gloss Texture paste as the last stem with the backgroud to give shine to the water section. While the Background dried, I used the Set Sail die set, the Guiding Light die set and the Oh Buoy die set to cut out the different pieces to assemble and embellish my card front. I used my Medium Craftstax to keep them organized before and after assembly.

For the Card Base, I used the bottle die from the Whale in a bottle die set to cut the card base into the bottle shape. To make sure it stays a folded card, I made sure that the die blade was placed outside of the card fold so it wouldn’t cut through the card base. I also used the bottle die to die cut a piece of Acetate for the bottle shine and used the same die as well as the bottle inside die to cut out the frame a couple of times. One of those frames were glued to the top of the acetate piece and two were glued to the underside to make from for the die cuts on the front of the card. Once the background had completely dried, It was die cut with the bottle die and glued to the front of the card. The die cuts to embellish the card front were assembled with Bearly Art Glue in a fine line bottle and added to the front of the card with the same glue.
