Quick Card Backgrounds

Quick Card Backgrounds

I love how easy it is to create Quick Card Backgrounds using the Peony Celebration Press Plate. Yu can get as elaborate with your colouring if you want but in this video I chose to focus on creating 3 different quick backgrounds with this plate and adding a simple sentiment for a beautiful finished card. All 3 of the Background techniques for these 3 cards are very easy and come together fairly quickly. I’m using the Peony Celebration Press plate for all 3 cards and adding very simple script sentiments to the fronts.

For the First Card, I used the Peony Celebration plate in the Betterpress system with a Versamark pad and watercolor cardstock. After putting the Betterpress system through my Platinum 6 machine, I heat embossed with Black Embossing powder before watercolouring the image with Distress pad refills. A Simple die cut Thanks sentiment finished off the Card front.

The Second card was created by inking the plate with Black Archival ink and running it through my die cutting machine with Betterpress cardstock using the sandwich for embossing a die cut. This gives a dramatic background with lots of embossed dimension for the flowers. The flowers were colored with distress ink pads and ink blending brushes before finishing off the card with a die cut hello sentiment.

The third and final card was Hot foiled with Espresso Bean Glimmer foil in the Glimmer hot foiling system using Hammermill cardstock before being colored with copic markers. This card was also finished off with a simple die cut friend sentiment.
