Press Plate Resist Technique

Press Plate Resist Technique

In this video, I’m creating a background with a Press plate resist technique. This technique is very similar to the Emboss resist technique using stamps but we will be using press plates to apply the embossing ink and pattern. Adding Magicals powders to the background creates a beautiful and colourful backdrop for our simple white die cuts. Ad

For the Backgrounds for both of the cards in this video, I’m using the Floral View Press plate with versamark Ink in the Betterpress System using the Spellbinders Platinum 6 to apply the pressure and transfer the ink. With the Ink transferred onto the Distress watercolour cardstock, I added Clear Embossing powder and used a Heat tool to emboss it. For one of the backgrounds I’m using Under the Boardwalk flat magicals and for the other card, I’m using Victorian bouquet Magicals. I was surprised at how similar the colours looked between the Magicals sets. The flat magicals has no shimmer to it and the other set has a beautiful shimmer. Both cards with finished in a similar way with a Friend die cut sentiment and Butterfly die cut with a Vellum shadow for both die cuts.
