Today, I’m creating Peacock Themed Cards using the New Peacock Paradise collection from Spellbinders. I love the Peacock theme of this collection and had so much fun creating these cards using a variety of techniques! Ad
For my first 2 cards, I’m using similar techniques with the Elegant Peacock and Fabulous Feathers Press plates in the Betterpress system on Mixed Media Heavystock. The plates are inked with Versamark ink and heat embossed with gold and silver Embossing powder. To colour the images I used Magicals pigment powders from the Autumn leaves set, Mad Hatter set and Victorian bouquet set. Each image was finished off with stickles, glossy accents and Gold liquid pearls for some texture and dimension.
The third card uses the Peacock butterfly die set and Cameo frames die set as well as the Peacock motif Embossing folder using Spellbinders carstock in Waterfall, Teal topaz, Lagoon, Indigo, Peridot and Gold Treasured cardstock. The Cameo frames die set is used to create a shaped card base and stickles and glossy accents finish off the Butterfly for some extra texture and dimension.
The Fourth card is created using the Glorious Peacock die set as well as the Cameo frames die set die cut in the same colours as card 3. To add visual dimension, the die cuts are ink blended with Peacock Feathers and Uncharted Mariner Distress ink pads with the help of the Ultra sticky mat to hold the die cuts during ink blending. The Peacock is finished off with Smokey topaz Gems as well as a touch of Stickles.
The fifth and final card is created using the Feather Flourish embossing folder with Waterfall cardstock. The background part of the Embossing folder is inked with Uncharted Mariner distress ink before embossing and the feather is ink blended with Twisted citron and Peacock Feathers distress ink to colour the feathers. Detail is added with Stickles and a Gold Gel pen and the card is finished off with a heat embossed betterpress sentiment.
