Interactive Whale Spinner card tutorial

Interactive Whale Spinner card tutorial with Distress Sprays used to create the water backgound. I’m using the Oh Whale stamp set from Pajama Crafter stamps with a Snap ‘N Spin to create the Spinning whale element on the card. I create 3 different versions of this card through the video talking about each one. Ad

Visual Supply list below.

Before Creating the cards, two 5″ x 7″ backgrounds are created using distress sprays and perfect pearls on watercolor cardstock and allowed to dry completely. Once dry, the Lower piece is trimmed to 4 3/4″ x 5 3/4″ and the upper piece is trimmed to 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. The whale is stamped & embossed with Lost shadow distress glaze and watercolored with Lost shadow & Hickory smoke distress re-inker and set aside to dry completely before fussy cutting.

The upper layer is die cut with the largest piece from the Underwater tunnel die set and the spinner channel is die cut into the lower piece using a die from the Wild ride die set. The sentiments are stamped and heat embossed with black embossing powder before trimming and matting. The card is assembled using a Snap’n spin and sticky spot to allow the whale to move and spin in the channel. The layers are mounted using double thick foam tape. The first sentiment is added to the top left and an addition sentiment is mounted inside the card along with the cut out from inside the top layer.

The Second card is the same as the first but without the second layer. This creates a simpler card and the whale has more surface to spin on. The sentiment is mounted on the lower left of this version.

The third version looks similar to the first but the second layer is mounted directly onto the first eliminating some of the extra dimension and adding more detail.
