How to use a Press Plate in 5 Unique ways

In this video I share How to use a press plate as well as 4 additional techniques to use with your Betterpress System and Plates. This video is in addition to one I did a couple months ago sharing 5 Creative ways to use your Betterpress plates (linked below & at the end of the Video)using those techniques and tweaking them. I love how many different ways the Betterpress system and plates can be used and never get tired of being awed by the results this system produces! Ad

For all the Cards I will be using the New Betterpress Spring Release from Spellbinders Paper Arts. Spellbinders kindly sent me these items to create with and share with you. I had so many different ideas when it came to how I wanted to create with them it was hard to narrow it down! For these cards I will be using the New Cosmos Backdrop Press plate and the Coordinating Layer stencil as well as the New You are Everything Sentiments Betterpress plate and die set.

I did a YouTube video a couple Months ago sharing Five Creative ways to use Betterpress Plates. The Techniques in todays videos are those techniques but Tweaked a little further or altered in some way to give you more Creative and unique ways to use your Press Plates.

My first card uses the Betterpress Letterpress System in the Traditional way. I am using both the Betterpress ink that comes with the System as well as Betterpress cardstock. I am running it through my Spellbinders Platinum 6 to Press the image into the Cardstock. While other cardstocks can be used (and I will be using them for my other cards, it is definitely the one that has the most letterpress impression impact. I coloured the Cosmos Backdrop with the Layer stencil and chose to use Distress inks along with those stencils. For the centre of the flowers, I used grit paste snowfall and Rock Candy Glitter for some extra Texture, Dimension and Sparkle.

For my Second Card I used the Betterpress system with the Betterpress in but printed onto Distress Watercolour Paper and Watercoloured the Image with Lindys Magicals. It blends Beautifully and gives som Beautiful Shimmer to the Flowers.

For the Third card I used the Cosmos Backdrop Press Plate in the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foiling system and Foiled the image with Prism Glimmer foil on Hammermill Cardstock. I used some Beautiful Cloud 9 interference inks in Opal Blush and Peacock Tails to ink blend the flowers. These inks look different on white than they do on black and the effect of both their colour and shimmer is Stunning. I go through the whole process Step by step in my YouTube Tutorial.

For my Fourth card, I used Vaseline on the Press Plates on watercolour cardstock to create a Resist. I then dropped the same Lindys Magicals that I used on card 2 with a fan brush on the Image and sprayed it with a distress sprayer to spread the ink. The result is a loose floral with Beautiful Shimmer.

For my last Card, I used the Cosmos Backdrop plate as well as the Sentiments Plate with a Versamark pad on Black Mixed Media Heavystock and then Embossed it with Silver Embossing Powder. Once the image is embossed, I used the Cosmos Backdrop Layer stencil with a Versamark Pad and brushed on Lindys Magicals powders with a soft brush. Between different layers I used a swiffer cloth to remove any excess powder. Once all of the layers were done, I misted the whold piece with my distress sprayer and the colours just come alive. The Powders that I used look striking on the black background. I chose the sentiment I wanted to use and added the powders over it as well so it would coordinate and pop on the card.
