How to Create Dimension with Press Plates

In this video I’m sharing how easy it is to create dimension with Press Plates. I will use them to create the embossed background for both cards. I chose not to ink the plates before but you could also choose to ink the plates and get the print pattern as well as the embossed texture. The Card Base for the Pop up card is one that Jennifer McGuire shared in this video HERE and she has many different Variations of that Base in her Video. Ad

For all the Cards I will be using the New Betterpress Spring Release from Spellbinders Paper Arts. Spellbinders kindly sent me these items to create with and share with you. I had so many different ideas when it came to how I wanted to create with them it was hard to narrow it down! For these cards I will be using the New Cosmos Backdrop Press plate and the Coordinating Layer stencil as well as the New You are Everything Sentiments Betterpress plate and die set. I will be using the Betterpress Plates to create some fun dimension. When you dry emboss the press plates, it creates amazing texture and dimension for cards. For these two cards I didn’t add ink to the plates before dry embossing, but you certainly could if you wanted that detail as well.

I used dry embossing for both cards. For dry embossing the press plates, I used the stacking in the Spellbinders platinum 6 for embossing a cut die cut. The first Card is a traditional A2 card and the Second one is creating the base from Jennifer McGuires video (linked above) The images were coloured using several different techniques with Karin Brushmarker Pro dye based Markers.
