Hot Foiled Cards

Hot Foiled Cards

In todays video, I’m creating Hot Foiled Cards using the New Glimmering Flowers Collection from Spellbinders. I love how easy these foiled images are to colour thanks to the coordinating layer stencils. I’m using a combination of distress ink pads as well as som Cloud 9 interference inks which adds the beautiful mica shimmer to different areas of the image. These images are larger and perfect for 5″ x 7″ cards, but as you can see they also work well for standard A2 cards as well. Ad

I love the new Glimmering Flowers collection from Spellbinders. They are a nice large size that work perfectly for Larger 5″ x 7″ Cards, but can also be used to create Standard A2 cards as well. My first card uses the Glimmering Peonies plate that was foiled using the Glimmer Machine, Hammermill Cardstock and Aura Foil. The beautiful image was coloured using the coordinating Layering Stencil using distress inks and Ink blending brushes. The Card is assembled and finished off with a foiled Curved everyday sentiment in the same colour foil with the banner die cut cut a couple extra times to glue behind and give the sentiment some extra dimension.

The Second card uses the Glimmering Buttercups plate foiled in the same Aura Glimmer foil as the first card. It was also coloured with the coordinating layering stencil. I used a Black Distress ink pad as well as my favourite Cloud 9 interference ink pads in Lemon Candy, Summer Garden, and Pink Campagne to add colour and some interference shine as well. This card is also finished off with a sentiment from the Curved everyday Sentiments glimmer set as well.

For the Third card, I’m using the Glimmering Buttercups plate again and creating a 5″ x 7″ card. I hot foiled the plate in Gold Foil and used the Coordinating Layering Stencil to colour the bright image with Distress ink pads using Ink blending brushes. I used the Chisel end of a Copic marker to create a faux mat around the image before layering it on a bright yellow mat and assembling the Card.

For the fourth card, I brought the Glimmering Peonies plate back out and decided to ink it with a Black Memento pad before Embossing it in my Spellbinders platinum 6 using the stacking for Embossing a die. This gives the image some amazing dimension. I used the coordinating layering stencil to colour the image with Distress inks as well as the Tropical Paradise Cloud 9 interference ink pad. The card is assembled and finished off with a Curved Everyday sentiment foiled with Aura foil and inked with the Tropical paradise pad to coordinate perfectly with the Flowers.

The fifth and final card uses the Glimmering Buttercups plate and foiled it with Green Glimmer foil. I had noticed while creating the Second card that the Buttercups looked a little like Shamrocks and wanted to create a Shamrock card with them (perhaps because I was creating these cards on St Patricks day and Clovers were on the mind). I used the coordinating layering stencil with several different green shades of Distress ink pads to colour the Greenery and used the Summer Garden Cloud 9 interference pad to colour the Shamrocks and give them some interference shimmer. The card is finished off with a Curved everyday sentiment foiled with Aura foil. The Centres of the Clover is finished off with dots of Platinum Stickles.
