Flower Die cut Techniques

Flower Die cut Techniques

Today I’m sharing Fun Flower Die cut Techniques using the New Wildflowers & Scribbled Flowers die sets from Lisa Horton Crafts. These two die sets lend themselves well to many different looks and techniques. Today, I’m using a couple of my favourite techniques to use with Flower die cuts. Ad

The first two cards use the Lisa Horton Crafts Scribbled Flowers die set in 2 different ways.

The first card has the outline flowers cut out of Velvet cardstock. The solid flowers are cut from white Hammermill cardstock. The solid flowers and Best Wishes sentiment are first ink blended with black soot distress ink. Then they are ink blended with interference ink pads in Pink Champagne and Summer Garden. The card is assembled using a wood grain printed paper from the Shabby Chic cardstock pack on the background.

The second one has the outline cut out of black cardstock. Then Sookwang tape is put onto plain white cardstock and the solid flowers and Thanks die is cut out of that. The outline die cuts are added to the top of the solid die cuts with the adhesive exposed. Once assembled, Microfine glitter is added and the glitter is coloured ink BV13 & YG63 copic before being blended out with the Copic blender pen. The card is assembled with printed paper from the Splash of Colour Cardstock pack as the background.

The last 2 cards are created with the Wildflowers die set. Both have a mixed media distress style background created on Mixed Media Heavystock.

The third card uses Black soot distress inks as well as Interference ink pads in Opal Blush and Summer garden to create the background. The wildflowers die is used to die cut velvet cardstock for the card front. The card is assembled and finished with a Thanks die cut.

The background for the fourth and final card uses Cloud 9 Matt blending pads in Anthracite, Surf’s up and Garden sage to create the Mixed media background. A small amount of the interference inks used for card 3 were added as well for a touch of shimmer on the background. Black cardstock was used for the wildflower die cuts on this card and it is finished with a So Kind die cut sentiment.
