In this video I am creating some Faux Tie Dye Cards. The techniques for this background as super easy and it’s fun to see how the inks blend as they dry. These backgrounds can be done with either ink pads or markers, but they must be dye based inks and you will need to work on cardstock that is intended for water techniques. Ad
To Create these card backgrounds, I start with some watercolor cardstock. On one background I used distress ink pads and on the other background I used Karin Markers. These are both dye based mediums and the inks will blend and flow when sprayed with water. After misting with water I let them dry overnight and used the So Grateful for you betterpress plate with black ink using the Betterpress system and my Spellbinders platinum 6. For the second background, I chose to ink the press plate but instead of using my betterpress, I used it in my platinum 6 with the stacking for embossing a die to transfer the ink and press the texture of the plate. I simple but bold sentiment was the perfect was the perfect finishing touch to both of these cards.
