Easy Water Background Technique

Easy Water Background Technique

In this video I’m using an Easy Water Background Technique in 2 different ways to create a simple background to create 2 Ocean themed cards using up extra die cuts and foil pieces from a previous project. These backgrounds were done in ocean colour but can be done in any colour combination to customize it for any project.

To create the Backgrounds for these cards started with Distress Watercolor Cardstock and used distress pads on acetate to smoosh the colour on and then sprayed with water using the distress sprayer to dilute the colour. The acetate was then pressed onto the watercolor cardstock to transfer the colour. This step can be repeated as often as you would like to create the look you want. If you want to layer the colour and texture, the ink needs to be dried between each application. If you want to blend the colour you don’t need to dry in between layers. The second background was created in a similar way but using Karin dye based markers instead of the distress pads. The rest of the card was created using leftover die cuts from previous cards and a previous video. The die cuts and background were enhanced with Glossy Accents and Black Enamel Accents for Texture and Dimension.
