Double Hot Foiling Cards

Double Hot Foiling Cards

In today’s video, I’m double Hot Foiling to create several card. I’m using the New Tropical Leaves press plate and die set along with the Buffalo Plaid Background press plate along with two different Glimmer foil colours. Ad

To create the Double Hot Foiled Cards, I first foiled the plates from the Tropical Leaves Press plate set onto Hammermill and Kiwi Hero Hues Cardstock using Aura Glimmer Foil with my Glimmer Machine. I created masks for the Leaves using the coordinating dies in the set to die cut Masking Magic Sheets in my Spellbinders platinum 6. I placed the Masks over the leaves to foil the second image using Opal Glimmer foil with the Buffalo Plaid press plate. A solid Hot foil plate was used with the glimmer foil waste to foil it onto Hammermill cardstock. The negative Aura glimmer foiling will be used as mats on the cards, the Negative opal foiling will be set aside for future projects. With the masks still on the leaves, the background was inked with Tumbled Glass distress ink on both pieces. The Green background was also ink blended with Uncharted mariner distress ink for extra contrast. The negative part of the masks were used to ink blend and colour the leaves with a Peeled Paint distress pad. Some of the Adhesive from the masking sheets was transferred onto the Hammermill cardstock from the heat of hot foiling and that adhesive reisdue resisted the ink blending on the leaves creating the buffalo plaid patter. The images were matted with the negative foiling and glued to the card bases using Bearly Art glue. One card was finished off with a foiled sentiment from the Sentiments of Wonder set and the second one finished off with a foiled sentiment from the Curved Everyday Sentiments set.

The Third card uses Simple Hot foiling. The first Image from the Tropical Leaves Press plate set was foiled onto Hammermill Cardstock with Aura Glimmer foil on the Glimmer machine. The negative image was foiled using the remainging foil after the first foiling with the Solid hot foil plate. The coordinating die cut was used to die cut it in the Spellbinders Platinum 6. The sentinent was foiled and die cut from the Sentiments of wonder press plate set. Both die cuts were added to the foiled card front, matted with Inka Gold cardstock and attached to the Card base using Bearly Art Glue.
