Create Unique Backgrounds with Die Cuts

In this video, I’m creating Unique Backgrounds with Die Cuts using the New Collection from Spellbinders & Lisa Horton. There are so many unique pieces in this collection and I thought the Stitched Circles die set as well as the Woven Lattice texture die would make great card backgrounds and a perfect base to add Interference inks. I love the final result! Ad

I love the uniqueness of this Collection from Spellbinders & Lisa Horton! The frames and woven Background texture dies create an interesting background for the floral die cuts and I love that the Sentiment die cut has 3 layers and includes sub-sentiment stamps that coordinate and have their own die to die cut the sub-sentiments. I used the You make me Smile sentiment die and stamp set for all of the cards created in this video.

I used the Woven Lattice Texture die as well as the Stitched edge circles die with both black and white cardstock to create unique backgrounds that were then covered in different colours of Cloud 9 interference ink pads to create a colourful shimmery background before adding the Iris or Anemone die cuts to finish off the cards. On several of the cards, vellum circles were added behind the iris die cuts to tone down the background slightly and allow the flower embellishment to stand out. For extra details on the flowers, a White gel pen and Black posca pen was used to add dot detail.
