In this video I’m sharing a technique for creating One Layer Card fronts. This technique is a simple way to create the look of the card front having more layers than it actually does. Masking magic and dies makes this technique super easy and the Masks can be used many times if you want to mass produce several cards. Ad
The technique to create is really quite easy. To create the oval, a Mask was created using oval dies and Masking Magic Sheets. The outside oval was placed over the Butterfly Bouquet Betterpressed image and the image was coloured using detail blending brushes with distress ink pads. A regular blending brush was used on the background to create the look of the faux oval layer. Once the inside of the image was coloured, the mask was removed and the areas of the image that went outside of the oval were coloured with detail ink blending brushes. The image piece was trimmed down, matted and added to a card base. An alternative to the Matting layer would be to eliminate it completely or use the chisel end of a marker to trim around the image piece and create a faux mat. A shimmer gel pen and some stickles were used to add to the image for some sparkle and shimmer.
