Create Card Making Magic with Interference Ink Pads

In this video, I’m sharing some Card Making Magic with Interference ink pads. I am always amazed when I use these inks at how amazing these inks look everytime I use them. I love their interference properties and how easy they are to use. Ad

For the Cards in Todays video, I’m creating with several different Interference Cloud 9 ink pads from Lisa Horton. These ink pads show up differently on light than they do on dark and (IMHO) act like magic!

The first card uses a Beautiful Large Butterfly stamp and I’m using a Black soot distress pad to ink up part of the stamp and blending that black out with an ink blending tool to buffer that ink out and reduce harsh lines. By adding the black ink I will get both Properties of the Mermaid Lagoon ink pad. I am using a Misti Stamping tool so that I can stamp multimple times and be the Butterfly will be stamped in the exact same spot. I added some clear embossing on top of the ink and LOVE how that Butterfly turned out with the combination of the ink on light as well as the black ink.

For the Second card, I wanted to use several Smaller butterflies stamps and do the same technique as the first card with using the Black soot ink pad to get both properties of the interference pads. I wanted to use different interference ink pads for each Butterfly. The interference pads I use for this card are: Mermaid Lagoon, Tropical Paradise and Teal Twist. I added Clear embossing on top of these butterflies as well for that extra dimension and shine.

The Third card explores those same interference ink pads with the black ink underneath to highlight the properties of the pads but on Bird die cuts. I die cut the Birds in my Big shot machine with White cardstock and then used the black pad with an ink blending brush on some areas of the bird die cuts. I used a Waffle Flower Grip mat to help hold those die cuts while inking them. The interference pads I used with the Die cuts were Peacock Tails, Opal Blush, Teal Twist and Tropical Paradise. I added a “wire” for the birds to sit on with a fine sharpie and also stamped a sentiment on the card front as well as inside the card with the Crazy Talk stamp set.
