Today, I’m creating Colourful Easter cards with Shimmer using the New Simon Hurley Happy Spring collection from Spellbinders. This collection is perfect for both Spring and Easter creations and I LOVE that the In Bloom Egg die set creates such fun A2 sized shaped cards! Ad
Visual Supply list below.
The first two cards use the Ornate Eggs Layering stencils and Embossing folder. The first card uses just the layering stencil set with Black stazon ink as well as Colour Shift ink pads for beautiful shimmer. The second one uses the embossing folder first and then then eggs are coloured using the Layering stencils with Distress inks and then Colour shift ink pads. The Ears to Spring clear stamp & die of the month for the sentiments to both of these cards as well as one of the egg cards.

The third card uses one of the egg backgrounds as a background for this card with the Bunny Buddes die set used for the scene on the front. The bunny is cut from velvet cardstock for a soft feel and extra texture.
The last two card use the In Bloom Egg die set to create A2 shaped cards. The fourth card is die cut from white cardstock and the pieces are ink blended with Distress ink and Colour shift in for gradient colour on the pieces. The card front is paper pieces with the help of Sizzix adhesive sheets to help with the paper piecing. Aura gems are used fro the flower centres and Spectrum gems are used for the dots in the background.

The fifth card uses transparent microfine glitter along with copic markers for the card front. Scor tape is added to cardstock before cutting the pattern into the tape backing side. The florals, stems and leaf pieces were removed and microfing glitter poured over the exposed adhesive. The glitter is burnished and then coloured with copic markers and blended with a copic blender pen. After colouring the rest of the tape backing is removed and the glitter is poured over the backing and burnished. Gems are placed in the centre of these flowers as well and the card is finished off with a sentiment.
