Christmas Cards in July

Christmas Cards in July

Today, I’m creating some Christmas Cards in July using the New Home for the Holidays Collection from Spellbinders. I love the variety in this collection and just couldn’t stop creating. These plates and dies are perfect for both Traditional and Non-traditional Holiday Creations. Ad

Christmas Cards are some of my favourite to make and I love the beautiful variety in this collection. My first card uses the Dashing Reindeer Registration press plate set with the Betterpress system. I used Tawny betterpress ink as well as embossing ink to do the scarf and ornaments in Red glitter embossing powder. The Background is created using the Sprinkled confetti press plate with the Glimmer Hot foiling system with white Glimmer foil on Hammermill cardstock. The background is then ink blended with various shades of blue distress ink pads. The sentiment for the card is hot foiled with the Mistletoe Greetings press plate & die set and Red Glimmer foil.

The Second card is created with the Color Mix Joy Registration Press plate set using a non-traditional colour palette with Abandoned Coral, Saltwater Taffy and Salvaged Patina Distress ink. The Greenery for the wreath is created with the Poinsettia spray die set and the Sentiment over the wreath is created with the Sending Joy Press plate & Die set.

The Third card uses the Color Mix Merry Registration Press plate set with a Traditional Christmas colour palette. The letters for Merry are pressed with various Distress ink pads. Once the word Merry has been pressed, one of the plates from the Night and Day Pines press plate set with out ink and just for the texture. The outside of the main pannel is ink blended with Bundled Sage and Peeled Paint distress pads. The Christmas sentiment is created with the Christmas Greetings die set.

The fourth Card is created again with a Traditional colour palette to create the Foliage & Florals with the Poinsettia Spray die set. The background is created with the Starshine background die set using Spellbinders Watercolor cardstock. The Background is framed with a little distress ink blending around the edges. This card is finished with one of the sentiments foiled for the first card.

The fifth and final card is also created with the Poinsettia Spray die set. This one is the same non-traditional palette as the Joy card with a Background created using the Argyle plaid Embossing folder. For a little difference from Card 4, I flipped the Poinsettia spray die cut so that it is hanging down. The sentiment is another of the sentiments left over from creating the Joy card.
