Birthday Themed Cards

Birthday Themed Cards

In this video, I’m creating Birthday Themed Cards using the Birthday Bash collection from Simon Hurley & Spellbinders. This collection is perfect for any Birthday or Celebration themed creations. Ad

Before creating any of the cards in this video I used my Glimmer Machine with the Birthday sentiments glimmer plate with Mini Rainbow strip glimmer foil onto Hammermill cardstock. I also used the Sprinkled confetti plate from another collection with the Rainbow confetti Glimmer foil for a background for one of the cards. I also used the solid hot foil plate to foil the negive image left in the foil and use both in the cards.

The First Card uses the Party Balloons layering stencil set and Embossing folder along with several different colours of Interference ink pads in Tropical Paradise, Teal Twist and Magic Garden. In order to take advantage of the interference properties of those ink pads. The different balloons were ink blended with a bit of Black soot distress ink before using the interference pads.

The Plaster background creates a really fun texture. To enhance it, I inked up the Plaster 3D embossing folder with Black soot distress ink and then used Solar paste in Cross my heart, Beluga and Crocodile tears on the background. I used the Mylar Balloons die set to cut out white cardstock. I ink blended the outside edges of the inside part of the balloons with black soot distress in before using the same colours of Solar paste on them.

The background of the Third card was created using the Flourish 3D Embossing folder on white cardstock. Lunar past in Later Gater, Clear Skies and Prom Queen was used on some white cardstock and then left to dry before die cutting the top layer of the balloons. The under layer of balloons was cut our of Silver cardstock from the Silver Treasured cardstock pack.

The Sprinkled Confetti foiled background was used on the fourth card and the Negative foiled background was used to die cut and create the top layer of the balloons. The back layer of the balloons were die cut out of Brushed silver cardstock from the Silver Treasured cardstock pack.

The fifth card was creating 2 different backgrounds ink blended with distress ink in Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry and Twisted Citron on Hammermill Cardstock. One was sprayed in Distress spritz in Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry and Twisted Citron. The Front layer of balloons were die cut out of the Spritzed background and the back layer was die cut out of the other background. The back of the card was stamped using the Streamers stamp set in Mustard Seed and Carved Pumpkin.
