Today, I’m sharing two Birthday Slider Cards using Spellbinders Small and Large Die of the Month. Slider cards are a fun way to add an interactive element to your cards and these two die sets were perfect for these cards but they can also be created with many other die sets. Ad

Both of the cards created use the same slider card base. For these ones, I’m using the Birthday Bliss and Hooray it’s your Birthday die sets from Spellbinders. Before creating the bases all of the elements for the front of the cards are die cut and assembled so they are ready to add to the card base once it’s made.
To create the card base, Score a 8 1/2″ x 51/2″ piece of cardstock at the 4″ mark and 8″ mark. Decide where you want your slider feature to move to and from and create a slit between those 2 places using a precision trimmer. Place a strip of cardstock about 1/2″-3/4″ wide through the slider chanel. Use low tack adhesive to hold the strip in place and use strong adhesive to attach that strip to the card insert. For this card, the insert is 5 1/2″ x 3 3/4″. Place strong adhesive on the 1/2″ strip on the side of the card base and attach the front to the back, enclosing the insert. Use strong adhesive to attach the slider element to the strip of cardstock coming out of the slider channel. Trim off any excess of that cardstock strip. Decorate the rest of the card front.
A sentiment can be stamped on the front of the card or the insert. This can be done before assembly or after depending on the design.
