Today, I’m sharing Two Easy Matte Blending ink techniques using Lisa Horton crafts dies & ink. The colour palette I’m using is the Colour combo of the month for April 2026 in the Lisa Horton Crafts Facebook group. I love trying out these colour combos as they’re such a great way to get out of my colour comfort zone! Ad

The background for this card was created first using the Script Text press plate in the Betterpress system with Heavystock to heat emboss with Gold embossing powder. The Matte blending inks in Anthracite, Early Sunrise and Rhubarb Jam were smooshed onto the Tim Holtz media mat and spritzed with water before dipping in the embossed background and drying with the heat it tool.

The die cuts are cut from Hammermill cardstock and ink blended with the Matte blending pads using the Lisa Horton brushes before assembling and adding to the Card. Pale Gold Nuvo drops are used for the dots on the Butterfly wings and Glossy accents were used for the Butterfly body.
