Interference ink & Press Plate Magic

Today, I’m sharing Interference ink & Press Plate Magic using Lisa Horton Interference pads & Alex Syberia press plates. Interference inks are a perfect pairing with press plates and add such vibrant colour and beautiful shimmer to the images! Ad

Visual Supply list below.

The first four cards use the Charming Floral Background press plate from Alex Syberia with the Glimmer system. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to foil with opaque Black or Matte Gold foil so I ended up doing both and then Solid Hot foiling the Negative foil to create additional backgrounds. The florals for the Foiled backgrounds were inked with Black Soot & Hickory smoke distress inks and then Ink blended using Lisa Horton Crafts Interference pads in Summer Garden, Peacock Tales & Pink Champagne.

The Negative foiled backgrounds were ink blended very simply using the same 3 Interference pads to create an Ombre look. All Cards were finished off with Sentiments die cut from the Cherry Blossoms and Kokeshi Dolls Press plate & die sets.

The fifth card uses the Chaming Floral background plate with the Betterpress system. The plate was inked with Versamark ink, Pressed and Heat embossed with Clear embossing powder. The flowers were coloured in the same way as the first two Foiled images. A simple Hello sentiment from the Kokeshi dolls press plate & die set finishes off the card.

The sixth card uses the Peony Blossom press plate. It is Heat embossed with black embossing powder on Watercolor cardstock. The Florals & Foliage are watercoloured with the same interference ink pads using a waterbrush.
