Today, I’m sharing Fun Press plate Techniques with Yana’s Daisies. I love playing with this collection and this video shares some of my favourite ways to use press plates with coordinating layering stencils! Ad
Visual Supply list below.
Before creating any cards, I used the Daisy Trio press plate with the Glimmer system and Opaque black foil on Hammermill cardstock. I also Hot foiled the Negative foil using a Solid Hot foil plate to create 2 cards with the Daisy trio image. Several sentimentf from the Crafty Hugs sentiments press plate set were also foiled, Negative foiled and die cut to have on hand to add to the cards as well.
The first card was coloured with the first 3 layers of the Daisy trio layer stencil set to colour the image. Hickory smoke distress ink was used first to add shadow before inking the rest with Interference ink pads in Summer Garden, Lavender fields and Opal Blush. The flower centers for this card (and all cards) were stenciled with Moon dust stickles glitter gel using a palette knife for extra dimension, texture and sparkle.

The second card uses the Negative foiled image and colours the background using the same interference colours as the stencilled daisy trio. Before stencilling the background, the fourth stencil from the Daisy trio layer stencil set was used to stencil with Hickory smoke distress ink to add the shadow.
The third card uses the Daisy shower press plate in the Betterpress system with Versamark ink on Distress watercolour cardstock. The background was heat embossed with distress glaze in Crushed olive and Peeled paint. After embossing, the images were stencilled with black soot distress ink before inking the flower petals with tropical paradise interference ink and the centres with opal blush interference ink. After the stencilling is done, it is taped to a blank piece of watercolor cardstock. The blank watercolour stock is misted lightly with a mighty mister, folded to face the embossed and stencilled background and run through the die cutting machine to transfer the image.

Once dry, the flower centres were stencilled with the Moon dust glitter gel and allowed to dry completely before assembling the cards and adding the sentiments.
