Today, I’m sharing Shaped Book Nook Light up card using the Spellbinders Stitched Study Nook club dies. This was such a fun card to create with the inspiration being some of the book/reading videos I’ve been seeing lately. I love the result and the light up lamp just takes it to the next level! Ad
Visual supply list & Blog Hop details below.
This card includes SO much Texture and detail thanks to the texture from the Stitched study Nook die set and the Stacked Stories 3D embossing folder. Both are clubs from Spellbinders for May 2025. To add even more texture, the armchair and cat is die cut from Velvet cardstock, other pieces are die cut from the Rose gold Treasured cardstock pack in both the Matte finish and the Pearl finish. The Card base is created using 2 die cuts of the largest size of the Essentials Arches die set. The same die is used to die cut Acorn cardstock to create the embossed background. The largest die and third largest die is used to create the arch frame for the front of the card with Acorn cardstock.
The stitching armchair and lamp die cuts are both stitched with DMC flos # 435 to add detail and coordinate with the background. Solid cardstock die cuts are adhered to the back of each stitched piece once complete. This adds some dimension and seals in the floss.

The background is Embossed with the Stacked Stories 3D embossing folder of the month. After embossing, the background is lightly ink blended with Walnut Stain distress ink to bring out the embossed details. A Copper Pot Metallic ink pad from Lisa Horton Crafts is used on the raised details of the background to add metallic touches and bring out the detail.
With the background finished, I start to assemble the front of the card, leaving room for the die cut frame around the card. After all pieces are added to the card front (leaving the lamp shade as the last piece. Once everything is added to the card but the lamp shade, a One light from Pear Blossom Press is used to to create the light up lamp. Once the battery is in the light, use a pencil to mark where the hole should be and punch the hole with a crop-a-dile. I made sure the button would be positioned on the lamp base and used a Smoky Topaz gem to mark the spot. Adhere the one light with Scor tape and use pop dots on the back to allow room for the one-light mechanism between the card front and base. The lamp shade is added to the Card front with pop dots to allow the light to be seen better on the Card front. Adhere to one of the die cuts for the card base. Place the other die cut in the Scor Pal (or however you like to score your card bases and score about an inch below the arched top. Use Bearly Art Glue on the upper flap to glue to the Card front.
