Today, I’m sharing Card making with Printed Papers & Die cuts using the Just Sayin’ collection from Spellbinders. Starting with printed papers & die cuts is a fun way to challenge the creative juices and create with different colour pallettes you may not normally create with. Ad
Visual Supply list below.
The first card uses the Pieced heart die cut in Onyx & thick cardstock. The white cardstock pieces are embossed with different embossing folders to create some fun texture. Once embossed, the pieces are glued to the top of the Onyx shadow heart. The background is created with a pink dot paper from the Just Sayin’ 6″ paper pack. The Heart is off set on the square mattes and embellished with printed die cuts from the Just sayin’ die cut pack. All layers are added to a 5″ square card base.
The second card uses the same Pieced heart die set but the pieces are ink blended with various distress ink pad colours before being splattered with water for visual texture. Once dry, splatters in indigo are added from the Watercolor mixing set. The florals are die cut from Fruit punch, Saffron, Pink sand and Persimmon carstock. They are ink blended in the centres with distress inks. The floral print in this card is also from the 6″ paper pad. The card base for this card is 5″ x 7″

The third card uses the Bold Floral Embossing folder with Distress inks. The same Distress inks that were used to ink blend for card 2 are used to ink the detail on the embossed cardstock. Once done, the embossed piece is put back into the Embossing folder, taped in place and Black Distress ink is used on the other side of the folder to ink the recessed areas of the Embossed background. Once complete, it is trimmed down, matted with Cosmic sky cardstock and added to an A2 card base.
The fourth card uses the brackets from the Punctuation & Icons die set to create the black details on the white background. Once completed, the background is trimmed and added to a printed paper matt and glued to the A2 card base. Printed die cuts are added to the front of the card from the Just Sayin’ die cut pack.
