Disco Ball Cards

Disco Ball Cards

Today, I’m sharing Disco Ball Cards using the New Shine Bright collection from Spellbinders. This is such a fun Disco themed collection and I love the look of the betterpress and glimmer plates Hot foiled using Holographic Facets glimmer foil for a sparkle that is perfect for the disco theme. Ad

Before creating the cards, I used the press plates and glimmer phates to hot foil the images using my Glimmer Machine with Silver Holographic facets glimmer foil on Hammermill cardstock. I also used the Solid Hot foil plate to do the negative foiling to use those pieces for mattes on the cards as well as die cutting a shine bright sentiment and sparkle pieces.

The first card uses the Disco Impressions press plate with the Layered Disco impressions stencil to colour the rest of the disco balls with distress inks and Lisa Horton Silver shine metallic ink. The bakcground is ink blended with various blue distress inks. The card is finished off with a foiled sentiment from the Sparkle on Sentiment press plate set.

To create the spinner card, the disco balls die set is used to die cut silver mirror cardtock two times from the Silver Treasured cardstock pack. A circle die from the Disco impressions set is used to cut the circle in the card front and mattes. Silver cord is used between the two disco ball die cuts and between the mattes on the front of the card to suspend the disco ball and create the spinner feature. The card is finished off with a foiled sentiment from the Sparkle on sentiments set.

The third card uses the Sparkle Background glimmer plate for the background. It is ink blended with varios Blue distress inks for contrasting colour that compliments the silver foil. The card is finished off with the Die cut Shine bright sentiment as well as Shine bright sentiment strip.

The last card uses the Layered Shine Bright stencil & Die set. The stencil layers are ink blended with Lisa Hortons silver shine metallic ink as well as the same blue distress inks I’ve used for the rest of the cards. The disco balls are created with the disco ball impressions press plates and lightly inked with Lost shadow distress ink. The Shine bright die cut is cut from the solid hot foiled pieces remaining after creating the rest of the cards.
