5 Creative uses for Betterpress Plates

In this video I’m sharing 5 Creative uses for Betterpress plates. I will be using the same Chic Merry Christmas Betterpress plate for all 5 Techniques. I love finding many ways to use my tools. By finding more techniques to use with them I think it makes them more valuable and we get to be more creative with them. Some of these techniques will work better for some plates than others.

*ad* In my first card I do the Traditional Betterpress Technique with Betterpress Ink and Paper, and then Ink blend the Backgound with Distress Pads and Ink Blending Brushes.

For My Second Card, I use the Chic Betterpress plate with the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foiling Machine and Aura Foil. I LOVE how Stunning this plate looks Hot Foiled with that Aura Glimmer Foil!

For My Third Card I used the Betterpress with Versamark Ink to Heat Emboss the image on Watercolour Cardstock. It could have been left as is at that Point but I chose to use Distress Refills to Watercolour the Background with a Broad Brush creating a very simple but Beautiful Background to the Embossed Image.

For my fourth Card, I used Vaseline with the Chic Merry Christmas Betterpress plate (making sure to clean really well afterwards) to create a Resist on Yupo Paper and then created an Alcohol Ink Background over top. Once dry, I used a paper towel to gently rub over the Alcohol Ink and remove it from over the Vaseline Pressed Image revealing the Yupo underneath.

For my Fifth and final card I used Metallic Pigment ink with the Press plate on Black Mixed Media Heavy stock. I chose to use Clear embossing powder over top for the shine, but the pigment ink could also be heat set with an embossing tool or left to dry on it’s own. Using the Heat tool or Embossing powder speeds up the process.

I always love learning different ways to use the tools and supplies I have and givving them more value by being able to be used in different ways. Hopefully this inspires you to pull out your supplies and use them in other ways as well! It’s a great way to get those creative juices flowing and give the supplies you have even more value!
